A Single Accreditation, House of Delegates, and Some Catching Up!

Speaking on behalf of the national Osteopathic student body at the 2014 AOA House of Delegates

Oh wow I came on here to post a little about the conferences I attended this fall, but found out I never posted anything from the end of the summer!  What an enormous oversight, as quite a lot happened around then.  First of all, I was proud to sit in the American Osteopathic Association’s House of Delegates and cast a vote as a Delegate from New Jersey, representing all of the students of Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.

I was equally proud to cast a historic vote in favor of supporting the Single Accreditation Pathway agreement between the ACGME and the AOA.

I also represented my students for a second time at the National Osteopathic Student Caucus, and represented the entire national Osteopathic student body by sharing our collective opinions on the floor of the House, before 500+ Osteopathic physician-leaders.  It was quite the humbling experience when I walked back to my seat to have the enormous body reverse a prior vote based upon my words.

When I came back from Chicago, I truly started my clinical rotations, moved to Philadelphia, and started my work with the Student Council in earnest.  I’ll post again soon about the fun and intense learning that occurred in October. Until next time!
